THE SPIRIT OF AN AUSSIE

I was standing on a hillside in a field of blowing wheat and the spirit of an Aussie was lying at my feet.

He looked at me with kind dark eyes an ancient wisdom shining through and in the essence of his being I saw love there too.

His mind did lock upon my heart as I stood there on that day and he told me of this story about a place far away.

I stood upon the hillside in a field of blowing wheat and in a twinkling of a second His spirit left my feet.

His tale did put my heart at ease my fears did fade away about what lay ahead of me on another distant day.

"I live among God's creatures now in the heavens of your mind so do not grieve for me, my friend as I am with my kind.

My collar is a rainbow's hue, my leash a shooting star, my boundaries are the Milky Way where I sparkle from afar.

There are no pens or kennels here for I am not confined, but free to roam God's heavens among my Aussie kind.

I nap the day on a snowy cloud, gentle breezes rocking me and dream the dreams of earthlings and how it used to be.

The trees are full of liver treats and tennis balls abound, Milkbones line the walkways just waiting to be found.

There even is a ring set up the grass all lush and green, and everyone who gaits around becomes the Best of Breed.

For we're all winners in this place, we have no faults you see, and God passes out those ribbons to each one, even me.

I drink from waters laced with gold, my world a beauty to behold, and wise old dogs do form my pride to amble at my very side.

At night I sleep in an angel's arms, her wings protecting me, and moonbeams dance about us as stardust falls on thee.

So when your life on earth is spent and you stand at Heaven's gate, have no fear of loneliness, for here, you know I wait".

Burke Farms Toby a red merle toy aussie."Toby was an amazing dog with a loving personality, everyone who came into contact with him was left with a lasting impression. He is dearly missed by many and we will always love him. We were there from birth and made the best four years a dog could make."  Toby passed away due to an accident in 2007. From Lauren

Shade Tree Aussies two pomeranians that have passed away."The Pom in the background is Tiny. She was a gentle sole who fell deeply in love with Larry. Tiny was so jealous of Larry that she would sit beside him and the and growl at every one who got within a few feet of them. We put that recliner in a yard once. Tiny went right out side and sat in it and growled away any one who looked at it. Needless to say we put it back in the house and Larry didn't get a new recliner. She passed away at the age of 8 from heart failure in 2003." from Shade Tree Aussies

Shade Tree Aussies chocolate pomeranian Dix E. Dawg.
"The chocolate Pom is Dixie. She was the very best friend a human could ask for. She ran our lives like a little drill sergeant. She told us when the food dish was low, when to go to bed and when to get up.  We lost Dixie to complications of old age. She passed at the ripe old age of 17 in 2006." from Shade Tree Aussies

Shade Tree Aussies blue heeler Lilly."The Blue Heeler is Lilly, the dark Pom is Dixie.

Every child should have a dog like Lilly in their lives. She was always ready for a game of Frisbee, ball or anything else you were willing to throw. I never had to worry about my daughter taking off on a horse alone as Lilly was there to protect her. Lilly passed away the spring of 2007 at the age of 16."
We truly miss her sprit here at Shade Tree Aussies.

Like other members of your family, your pet may outlive you. While your pet will certainly miss you dearly when you are gone, will your pet be properly cared for? Who will make sure they have shelter, food, water, exercise or a toy to play with? Who will be responsible for paying their medical bills? Who will decide when and if to euthanize? Will your pet receive an appropriate burial? Do you have multiple pets and want them to stay together?

These issues and more are often overlooked when people create their estate plan. If your trust or will is silent as to your pet care wishes, and if no informal arrangements have been made to have someone come and get your pets once you have passed, your pets may end up in the care of someone you don’t know or worse.

A newly discovered chapter in the Book of Genesis has provided the answer to 'Where do dogs come from?'

Adam and Eve said, "Lord, when we were in the garden, you walked with us every day. Now we do not see you any more. We are lonesome here, and it is difficult for us to remember how much you love us."

And God said, "I will create a companion for you that will be with you and who will be a reflection of my love for you, so that you will love me even when you cannot see me. Regardless of how selfish or childish or unlovable you may be, this new companion will accept you as you are and will love you as I do, in spite of yourselves."

And God created a new animal to be a companion for Adam and Eve.

And it was a good animal.

And God was pleased.

And the new animal was pleased to be with Adam and Eve and he wagged his tail.

And Adam said, "Lord, I have already named all the animals in the Kingdom and I cannot think of a name for this new animal."

And God said, "I have created this new animal to be a reflection of my love for you, his name will be a reflection of my own name, and you will call him DOG."
